The firm’s dedication was recently acknowledged at the Skills West Midlands and Warwickshire Awards, where the company was recognised by The Rt Hon Baroness Smith of Malvern, Minister for Skills and the Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker.
Through initiatives like welding bootcamps and advanced skills training provided by the award winning independent training provider Performance Through People in Walsall, Marcegaglia has demonstrated a firm commitment to nurturing talent within its workforce.
Building on this success, the company has further expanded its skills development programme, focussing on both production operatives and maintenance personnel.
The company has welcomed new apprentices across shop floor and administrative roles at its Oldbury site, emphasising its dedication to developing the next generation of skilled workers.
The company has also invested £25 million in its Oldbury plant, alongside a staggering £50 million allocated to its Sheffield site for a new upgraded electric arc furnace, with promised enhancements to both productivity and efficiency forming a “dual commitment” to technology and human capital.
